What was your best work this year? Describe the work (10)
My best work this year was our last project. I named it, "The Forest." I focused on all of the Elements of Art. I took into consideration the space, which can be seen through the trees. I created multiple layers and each layer of trees were different sizes so that the farthest layer would have not only the smallest trees, but also the darkest shade of trees. Color was also a big factor I wanted to use in this animation. I used contrasting colors in the dark blue sky and yellow-gold fireflies. I also incorporated something we did early on in the year, walking. Also, it was my only animation with sound!

The story cuts into a child's life when he is stuck in the woods. He doesn't know what to do, until he decides to take action. He starts walking through the forests, but, unfortunately, he gets kidnapped by a big bird. However, along the way, he experiences the mystics of the forest with the red robin and swarms of fireflies. The animation had an emphasis on aesthetics. I wanted to play around with the movement, layers, and colors.

List three things you did well on this project. (10)
List three things you did well on this project. (10)
- I showed the use of all Elements of Art
- I showed the use of many Principles of Design
- Balance: Shown in the balance of the amount and spacing of the fireflies
- Movement: Almost everything is constantly moving - the ground when changing angles, the moving boy, the moving fireflies, and the moving trees as it panels across the screen.
- Repetition: There was repetition in the trees and the boy's walking
- Proportions: Everything was scaled
- Unity: Everything tied in with each other
- I incorporated walking well into this animation
